help needed with trunk light

Hi,
my trunk light on my g35 has stopped working. I could get it to flicker if I waggled the cables that run in to the trunk lid but I cant even get it to do that now. Everything points to a broken cable( seems to be a common fault) but I cant find a break on that section. Does anyone know what colour the cable is and how to pop the trunk light assembly out competely? its a 2003 model if that helps.
many thanks and a big hello from the UK

Are you absolutely positive the bulb is new/in healthy condition? Sometimes a bulb that is about to die will flicker, exhibiting signs similar to deteriorating wiring cables. It doesn't hurt to swap bulbs from another vehicle or purchase a new one altogether to make sure the bulb is not at fault before you go prodding at more expensive repairs. Good luck!

I'd try replacing the bulb first. You can get a 2 pack of sylvania 168/194 bulbs at an auto parts store for around $4.99.

yes I am absolutely positive the bulb is healthy. I even pluged in my LED bulb from my clear corners that work in the trunk, but it doesnt turn on.

the led's will only work one way so if it doesn't work flip it around the other way just to be sure. why dont you pull the bulb out and touch a test light int here just to make sure theres no power. there shouldn't really be a reason for the wiring to deteriorate its still a pretty new vehicle.
