Why not use THIS method. No disconnecting the battery and no worry of having to reset your windows if they go out. I have heard sometimes if you leave the battery unhooked for a while you loose the auto window down or something like that and you have to manually reset the windows somehow.

The ECU cannot forget any learned settings like idle by being disconnected, the only way that the so called learned settings (idle trim etc) can be changed is by using a diagnostic/reset tool.
