It probably has been patented but just a though. have your hose connected to a long rod with holes in it. When you get home, turn on the water and drive over it. it shoots water up and gets all the remaining salt off the bottom of your car. probably wont do as good of a job as doing it yourself but when your in 30 degree weather, it is deffidently worth it.

When you always park next to an island in a parking lot (even if it means an extra 100 yards from the store) and park so close to the island curb that it limits your ability to open the door because of the bushes, but its worth the discomfort, knowing if a car parks next to you, they can open their door full and won't hit you...
