well its either gonna be a 245/35 or a 255/35... a 245/35 will prevent me from running more negative camber. i was going to originally run -4 in the front and -6 in the rear but if i could get away with having a couple months of tire saving im up for it lol. if i run a 255/35 im going to be around those numbers which my tires are going to last 5-6 months.

You mean Bhav's old wheels and now Aman's wheels?

It annoys me when people try to hide their offsets.

From somebody that worked in the tire industry for years I can tell you that stretching the tire to those limits is not a good idea, it will alter the tires handling ability. I wish I still had all my dealer notebooks so that I could scan in and show varying tests that were done over the years. Now obviously this is not as severe with low profile performance tires as it is trying to run 195/75/14 white walls on 8.5's but it's still not suggested. We used to see about a wreck per month come through our shops from people loosing seal by stretching 205/50/15's on 15x10's and expecting them to perform the same.

I know my words will not stop anybody when they are after this particular look but please remember to be careful because regardless of what the custom shops tell you it is dangerous (they just want your $).

Best of Luck,
Jason

I don't understand in this case why you are not willing to share your offsets. You have used the widths/offsets of someone else's setup to decide your own widths/offsets so why be secretive? Its not like you are doing a setup (offset wise) that hasn't been seen on a G/Z before. The guys who wouldn't reveal their offsets previously were pushing the limits of what we were seeing on Gs/Zs and they didn't want people who didn't do their homework to be able to just copy them because it took a lot of measuring and research to do what they did, at the time in which they did it. They didn't ask for help with tire sizes, fender work, how much camber they would need to run, how low they would need to be, etc., etc.

I just find it odd that you won't share your offsets because by doing so we would be able to help you choose a tire size that would match with the amount of camber you'd like to run and the fender work you plan on doing. Its all about helping each other here, but its hard to properly help you when you won't share all of the info related to your setup.

^ Werd! lol at hiding offsets unless your gonna do something crazier than "Status : One" there's no need to hide you're offsets ..

Quote: What wouldn't be practical about stretched tires? I still don't get why people ask that lol

Bluedevil, local guy to me has been running 215/40 on a 11 for like 2 years.
Got pics of it Blain? That's pretty close to the 235/35 I'm running. He's got less width, I got smaller profile but it turns out to be just about even.

Sounds like someone didn't pay attention to their air pressure or it wasn't mounted well in the first place. I'm running a pretty extreme stretch compared to most people.... 235/30 on a 10.5 and 235/35 on an 11. Only issues I've ever had was because I didn't keep an eye on tire tread and on air pressure. Other than that, no issues at all.

-------

As for hiding offsets, it's a thing of the past. If you're only going a few mm more aggressive, it's not that much more to make a difference. Anyone can achieve what you will be doing with a little more negative camber and/or fender work.
