you bought the wrong car
Re: you bought the wrong car
"my parents bought me the G..paid for my rent..paid for my tuition...paid for my food..paid for my gas ...paid for my insurance...they paid for my credit card bills..in fact i just bought 500 bucks of stuff on the G and charged it on my credit card which my parents will pay off for me... "
Probably not something I would be bragging about....did they buy your first piece of a$$ too?
Martin---thanks for giving me hope for the youth of America. You seem to really have your head on straight. Some folks on this board could stand to learn a few things from you.

Re: you bought the wrong car
Im 19, second year of college, work 20 hours a week, full time student, and give my checks to my parents. They trust me, they can afford it, and I was cool with waiting 2 years into college to finally get my G. And no im not spoiled. WUTS the problem? But I do understand where the older guys are coming from. I went to a really "rich" high school where everyone drove BMWs for practice cars, that pissed me off to. I think if your responsible and not spoiled, there is no problem. By the way I dont have my G yet, its coming first week of December.

WTF!!! You're in Orlando and haven't come to any of our meets? What's up with that? Check out the SE Forum, we meet up every Friday Night and hang out. Sometimes it's poker ($2.00 buy in, we're cheap), sometimes it's Bithlo for 1/4 mile runs, sometimes it's pool and darts, other times it's Hooters, and always we meet for dinner at 5pm some where near University Blvd or Waterford Lakes. We've even been kicking around a new meeting location just to attract more people.

Re: you bought the wrong car
sorry have to replie to this one. ok, i admit it, yes i am in highschool, and yes my parent bought and pay my monthly bills on my car. but, while i was growing up my dad would always tell me i would be driving his 95 explore. and i did for a year. then he got me my G. i could have chosen between the G or a supra and i got a G because my pros and cons test outweighed the supra. i live in a pretty wealthy city and my dad has a good job that he has been working at for 20+ years and has moved up in the company. he works 6-6 everyday and i basicly only see him on the weekends. he bought me the G a year before he gave it to me(he drove it as his car) so i could learn how to drive it well. the reason he bought it is because it is undoughtably one of the safest cars on the road. i have to make all A's and a B is acceptible here or there. if i get lower grades he says he will take my car away.he said if i get a ticket he will take it away "for ever". so i do not take my G for granted as i am very fortunat and i ,by no, means drive my G carelessly. i have to pay for anything i put on it and if i break something i have to pay to fix it. on this board all i care is that i have a G and you have a G.

Re: you bought the wrong car
IM A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT.. there are you gunna hate on me now 'cause I have a G35?? Some of you don't even know me, you don't even know what kind of family I come from... Do some of you think that all us teenagers are snobs that have G35's?? Cause your wrong... I've met up w/ some people on this forum and THEY DO NOT have one problem with me having a g35 and I think those who are "sick" of us need to learn from those mature people I have met...I DO NOT appreciate this.."I am sick of high school kids getting 35K cars as gifts." I'm sick you hating on us, that's what I'm sick of... If my family is wealthy then so be it... It's not my fault my dad struck rich... you don't even know my parents history...I'm sure if you struck rich, and you trust your son in my case, you would give him a a great car. And YES i had a job and paid for my gas, and YES i manage a 4.0 GPA, and YES i do what my parents ask of me... So next time please any of you haters think before you speak. And truthfully I don't think I should even have to prove this to you, but i am to prove a point. I think that's enough said... and for the time being I will keep on being an active member on this board if you like it or not =D
Re: you bought the wrong car
To all the bona-fide boneheads who proudly defend their parents poor decision to buy them a $30K plus car (or subsidize their education so they can claim they paid for it): THANK YOU.
Thank you for going to the "rich" school (though it must have been the "rich" public school) and not grasping the basics of the English language; Hyescarface00 - you are aware two, to, and too all express different things? And you're not doing it correctly.
Thank you for bragging about your parents buying you cars because they weren't there for you; 2FAST4_G35man, I'm sure your father buying you the G will make up for all that time lost with him. I'm sure you'll keep telling yourself he did it because he was proud of you, and not because he felt guilty for never being there for you.
Thank you for boasting of 4.0 GPAs, while writing such asinine lines as "It's not my fault my dad struck rich..." Really PiMpG35? Was Rich angry after your father struck him? Don't take it too badly PiMpG35, you ceded the retard crown when Takuayahh stated "in fact i just bought 500 bucks of stuff on the G and charged it on my credit card which my parents will pay off for me..." Wow, Takuuyahh, your parents have bought you everything you need to sit in a room by yourself, but nothing to help you get by on your own... and you're proud of that?! I'm sure you'll impress your girlfriend when you stop at the folks' place to drop off your bills.
Thank you for not knowing how much your parents pay for college, and yet insisting you're old enough and independent enough to afford a G. ILLG35, do your parents actually write a check for tuition for "like $1400 a semester or something like that?"
Thank you for being too arrogant to understand what is offensive to those in your company, and your inability to comprehend how to empathize with others. And most importantly, please thank your parents for teaching you how material goods exceed humility and the work ethic needed to succeed in today's labor market.
I thank you (and your parents), sincerely, for all of this because you'll be the first to have a job outsourced to India, or Mexico, or whatever other third-world country provides the cheap labor of the day. I thank you because I'll continue being promoted, and develop wealth. You, of course, will continue to botch the English language, and try to convince the hottie you met at the club you're cool in your G (even if you're serving lattes to pay for the insurance, and your parents are pissing away their money to make your payment).

Re: you bought the wrong car
All you youngens whose parents bought you nice cars have no reason to have to defend yourselves. With the people I grew up with, the 10 year old Celica I got at 16 was pimp to all the other kids, considering many didn't even get cars from their parents. Just be happy that you're parents are cool and don't take them for granted.
And to those who have this chip on their shoulders over kids getting nice things, get over it. I mean, what do heck do you want? A cookie?

Re: you bought the wrong car
Yeah I really don't see the big deal. For those kids' whose parents pay for their cars, the parents wouldn't do it if they couldn't afford it or if it wasn't worth it. Just because some of you guys work "so damn hard" to pay for your G, doesn't mean the other kids who don't, should feel guilty about it. A car is just an expensive chunk of metal, and nothing more than a material posession. It doesn't define who you are as a person.
Basically, what I'm saying is, get over it or go cry to your parents and ask them why they didn't get you a nice car when you were a kid. No room for cry babies on this forum....life's unfair, deal with it.
Our common ground on this forum is that we all have G's. Those of us whose parents pay for our cars, none of us have a problem with it, so any of you who do, it is simply your problem and not ours.

Why should pepole who were born more fortunate have to feel guilty about what they own?
Im 20, not a g-owner yet. but Im about to buy an 05. with my own money no less. That I earned from starting my own business and working. Are you gonna hate on me for that? but i empathize with them because my parents got me an 02 accord for my graduation and I took [censored] for it from everyone for it.
seriously your attitude is completely hypocritical. before you go around talking that [censored]. you better take a good long hard look at yourself.

Re: you bought the wrong car
Personally, me AND my wife work our a$$es off for my G. Living in San Diego, we've managed to get a lot for ourselves, we worked for it from nothing. When i was 16 my parents bought me an 82 Honda Accord (looks like the old CVCC) in beer bottle brown. I loved that car, I learned how to drive stick in it and i had tons of memories.
I love everything about my car, the way it handles to the power. It feels good just driving it like a grandma in the slow lane. If i want to go faster, i'll either mod it or buy another car, but that doesn't make the car inferior to me in anyway what so ever. The car is what it is and thats why i bought mine.
Honestly I dont see anything wrong with a high school or college kid having this car either. As long as they learn how to be responsable with any car, it shouldn't matter what it is. Yes the G is safer than most cars, so as a parent why wouldn't you want your kids driving something that is safer that a car that shouldn't even be on the road.
Just my 2 cents

Some for my next car out of every weeks paycheck, and i walk away with like $60-80 cash in my pocket each week which is nothing! But hey i love the car, im able to afford it and im getting by while going to school.
