"Not quite the pimp factor as the G (would only beat the G if pushed out the back of a plane!) but it will get me around. "

Actually the G has better Aerodynamics. The G would still win there too. =P

I did drive the G last winter, but the gigantic rock salt flying off the back of semi truck tires on the toll road really beat the hell out of my front bumper. With an 80 mile round trip commute I want to keep the mileage down as well.

it must not be a V6 accord... my 98 V6 EX coupe went thru 5 transmissions... sold her @ 140,000... a couple months ago... hard to see her leave but she was too high maintenance!

93 civic here with 165,000. Every mile on it was driven by parents or me since it was my mom's before i got it 5 years ago. Transmission is going, just praying it lasts as long as possible so i don't have to bust out the G this winter(maybe even a few although that's pushing it). Not that I'm putting it away, just not driving it much to save miles and avoid all that rock salt damage. I drive it to work most of the time as it is now and it just makes the G that much sweeter every time i jump in the driver's seat.

If the car was a porsche or viper or something, I could understand putting it away for the whole winter. But what the heck are you saving the $30000 some G35 for? Its not like its appreciating in value or like its a rare car on the roads. In 2 years their gonna be changing the exterior so you might as well drive yours as much as you can while its still in style.

It could be that the G just sux in the snow and even with winter tires, why risk the chance of some moron spinning out into you. Some peeps tie up alot of money in their G and want to keep it in the best condition possible for years to come. I don't think it is so much a retaining value thing as it is caring for one's possessions they worked hard to get. Everyone knows that autos are just about the worst investments you can make but they still want to retain as much value as possible.
Plus the salt and dirt, not being able to wash as frequently...yadda yadda....Sometimes it's just more practical to use a beater for the winter, this way you don't car how ruined your interior or exterior gets!

for me it's not about depreciation really. It's that i drive about 25k miles a year and i don't want to run out of warranty in a little over 2 years when it can go to 4. Not to mention snow handling as stated above especially since this is my first stick car. And I don't want to drop $2500 for new rims and snow tires. And if i got the old car might as well make use of it cause it's crap and i couldn't sell it for much.

WEAK! SO WEAK!

i dont understand why people "garage" their G for the winter. its a $30,000 car not a $200K ferrari... who cares if you get a couple of nicks and scratches. Winter wheels are only $1200 TOTAL and trust me, it is worth EVERY penny and you will do just fine in the winter, as i did in our harsh Michigan winters. Seriously, the G is a blast to drive and i believe it was meant to be driven in the winter as well! While yours is in the garage in the winter, i will be enjoying mine ALL WINTER LONG (it only snows 10 times per year, the other 100 days are dry and sunny skies...what a waste to garage it)
