Oil consumption?

Also depends on what year the car is. If its an 06-07 and it still has the power train warranty, then yeah of course. That's what I did. Bought my 06' with 62k and the owner never got it tested for oil consumption but never had a problem with it but I am going to try to get my motor TSB'ed.

good luck. if its out of warranty by time or mileage, doubt it. and you not being an original owner doesnt help. and even more so if the car doesnt have much of a history with the dealer. lots of things to factor in. trust me. i work at the dealer, i know, i went through it and got shot down lol

I have a 2004 G35 coupe...at 54k miles got my baby put in for oil consumption issue. They replaced my motor. New motor consumes oil also. I cannot put in synthetic...it will blow thru 2 1/2 -3 quarts every change. If i use regular oil- it only uses about a quart! Weird i know but yeah she drinks lots of it.

Incorrect. The problem was they increased the rev on the VQ35DE motor and didn't upgrade the rings or pistons.
And, if you didn't know, the VQ35DE has a long history of oil consumption, since 2002. From Altimas, Maximas, etc etc.
It just became more severe with the revups. Increasing the rev on a motor known to have OC issues, w/o upgrading the internals. Good job Nissan.
What's next? Charge 10k for an intake, exhaust and red seats and call it an IPL? Intakes, Performance Exhaust. Lame azz seats?

Well suit yourself, but the information i have is that Nissan used different ring sets on the rev-up motor which caused the oil consumption problem, quite a few tuner's in the UK use this method to cure the problem.
And by the way my non rev-up DE and lots of others have no oil consumption problems.

think my 07 with 29k miles on it consumes oil.. i drove it 2200 miles home and went to change oil and maybe had qrt ,qrt and half in there.. i took it to sears to have oil changed so its documented and goes to dealer thursday.. has bad shift **** rattle and passenger front wheel hub bearing hums pretty bad.. so i guess ill hit them with the oil problem too
