windows up mod / clutch

i put these 2 weird things in one post cause i'm lazy and cause they both happened last night while i was driving. the first is i hit lock or unlock while i was driving and my alarm starting going off. is this nornal or could it be cause of the window-up mod? i didn't get a chance to try it again, but i would think the alarm could not go off while the keys are in the ignition and i'm driving, so i'm guessing it's the windows up mod.

the 2nd thing is with my clutch, i have a 04 6MT. sometimes when i drive agressive, for example last night, i shifted fast and hard from 1st to 2nd at around 6000rpms, and my clutch pedal did not come up right away. as in i shift into 2nd and when i give it gas hard and take my foot off the clutch, the pedal does not pop up right away as it should, it stays down for a couple seconds. is this normal? something i'm doing wrong? or could something be messed up? i can't figure out exactly what makes it happen, but it does so every once in a while when i drive more agressive.

I doubt the window mod has anything to do with the alarm, but then again, strange crap can happen. As for the clutch, check the clutch fluid resovior under the hood and see if you need some fluid. You might have a small leak.

Re: windows up mod / clutch

i'll check the clutch fluid after the rain stops.
as for the window mod, it sets my alarm off everytime i use it, i just deal with it cause it's not that big a deal. the first time you press lock, the doors lock and the alarm is engaged, the second time you press it, the windows go up, setting off the voltage sensors in the alarm. i'll have to play around with it later and see if i can get it to repeat.

nice sig by the way drew. just noticed you have the K&N drop in, how does that compare to using the pop-charger with the z-tube?

Re: windows up mod / clutch

I don't know about the window since I don't have the roll-up mod, but I notice my clutch does the same thing.

Like you said, it only does it when you get on it. It's like the tranny is pulling or holding the clutch back? I though it was because of the adjustments I made to shorten the clutch travel, but I will check the clutch fuid during lunch today....

(Signature soon..)

not that new. 4 and a half months, 8500 miles. it doesn't come up fast, it's staying down too long, exactly the way RedLine described it above.

Re: windows up mod / clutch

i'm gonna check mine soon as the car cools off.

i only remember it happening in 2nd, but i think it might have happened in 3rd too though a while ago. it would be weird for it only in 1 gear if it is the fluid. so might just be i'm not redlining it as much in the higher gears?

What kind of alarm do you have? I've never seen an alarm that would trigger instantly after being armed, epecially on voltage. Typically these types of systems take about 30 seconds to 'set up.' Strange...
