First oil change

First oil change
It's looking like I'll have a new '04 Coupe 6MT on Saturday the 6th. I was wondering what would be the best time to get the first oil change done? 1,000 miles or so to get the shavings, etc. out, or wait until the normal 3,000?

I did my first one at around 2,000, second around 4,000
If you do an early one like 1,000, I'd still do the 3,000/4,000 if you have the money.
