Radar Detectors

If cops are using laser in your area, a radar detector isn't going to help you much if at all. You really need a laser jammer for this and they can be reasonable to quite expensive but worthwhile (Escort 9500ci).
I have an Escort Redline I use for the highway because it's crazy sensitive. However, in the city I just don't even have it plugged in. (1) I don't speed much in the city anyways and (2) it goes off constantly.
If I were going to get one for the city, it would be the 9500xi. It has a database of redlight cameras and will store false detections in a gps system. So if your route is constant for instance and you've blocked out all the false alarms using gps from previous trips, the time it does go off you know something is up.
The 9500ci combines the redline and 9500xi along with laser jammers together but again is expensive.
I spent quite a lot of time researching what to get and quite frankly, the Redline was just as good or better than the V1. The only complaint was the lack of arrows. But really, that is the least of my concern.
