This will be my first winter with my G35 in the snowy northeast - last year I was living in sunny southern CA, so I never experienced this car in snow before.
From what I have learned, the car is completely useless in the snow, and actually dangerous with the Pilot Sports. However, with snow tires, the car is much better in the snow. Not good, but very driveable at least. So, I ordered a set of Blizzak LM22's, which will be mounted in 2 weeks for the winter season.
The G35 in the rain is no problem. The Pilot Sports are actually pretty good in the rain. Just don't try to set any lap records in it in the rain, and you'll be fine.

If you get the 18" or 19" wheels, the car is worthless in the snow. The high performance summer tires don't even try to grab traction. However, if you don't mind investing in a set of snow tires (and maybe a set of wheels to match), it will make a world of difference. I believe Subaru provides all-season tires with most of their cars, and along with AWD, makes for a solid combination during the winter months.

The stock Pilots are good in summer, but useless in winter.
My Coupe with 225 snows all 'round is great. No worries.
