First here is the brake down.
Ztube- about 3-5 horse power basically just for sound
Stillen intake- combo with ztube 12-15 horse
groundin kit- nothing (everyone has one so i got it)
5/16 spacer- about 10-15
Now i basically didnt feel the first 10 but once i reached 3500 it just took it to the limit. I didnt know this little thing could give it such a great pull
I gained 23 lbs
The intake increase contradicts most everything else I've found on this site. Would love to see dyno numbers.Originally Posted by xWRECKo

I too have the MD 5/16 spacer (Iso-Thermal version), besides my tune, it was the best mod I've purchased!

Iceguju, your thread/reaction is typical of what member have experienced since MotorDyne developed the spacer to correct Nissan's design flaw. I've had mine installed since mid '05 and it is the best bang of your $$. That along with HFCs offer the best HP increase for our NA engines. Sounds like you're going to have fun with this now....enjoy!Originally Posted by iceguju
I finally got around to installing the MD 5/16 isothermal copper spacer. All I can say is wow! I didn't expect a huge difference but you notice a better pull from 2500-4500rpms. It sounds perfect with the stillen cold air box! I have an 04 5AT and it definitely bring a little more life to the car.

Yeah, I am looking into HFCs/testpipes now to free up some more hp. My cousin in law got rid of his G and said he has some testpipes sitting around he could put in for me for free. I don't know which ones they are, but I don't want too much of a raspy sound or drone on the highway. I was thinking of just going for the ART pipes. Any suggestions? I have an 04 5AT.

Test pipes or HFCs....this is a major question for most members depending on where they live (smog police) and tailpipe stink. At least with BERK'S HFC's you'll be legal in your state and gain 8 to 10 RWHP. For less than $500 that's a good gain for the $$ Test pipes are cheaper but then you have the issue of legality, terrible sound and like I posted stinky tail pipes....

Gary knows what he's talking about. You wont regret going HFC's because its at least legal in some states so you don't hassle yourself in removing it. I'm thinking of replacing my exhaust soon. Anyone know a shop in california that is good to go to they recommend?

Is that dependent on a tune after? Or bolt on instant HP?Originally Posted by gary c

^ Id say bolt on instant... You would get much more if you tune, especially with other breather mods, plenum spacer, catback, CAI...
Virginia doesn't have emissions inspections or hardcore smog laws so I think I am ok with the test pipes. Plus, I don't drive my car much besides highway. I think I will go for the MD ART pipes. Is the installation pretty straightforward? Will I have engine service lights coming up on the dash because of the install? I want to tune, but will I still feel some extra power without a tune until summer? Thanks guys.
