SOCAL double din install

hi guys, i'm really looking into getting a double din. can you guys recommend a place in SOCAL that does the install for a reasonable price? i called al & ed's and they said labor alone would run around $400. i've never done any audio wiring so i'm afraid to screw something up otherwise i'd try my own hands at it. thanks.

PM me if Rancho Cucamonga is not too far to drive. I can probably get you a professional install for about half of that.

If an audio shop quoted you $400 they probably have no idea what it takes to install an after market stereo in one of these cars. That sounds under priced to me considering I put an hour of soldering work just making the wiring harness. If they are a reputable installer they will be doing the same to your car, not using crimp connectors and electrical tape to make connections. There is also a pretty extensive shopping list if you want everything to work just as well as the factory Bose unit did. What head unit do you have? Also what other components have you purchased to keep all of your functions (such as steering wheel control, factory Bose amp, dual zone climate control if applicable, etc.)? What dash install kit did you buy? You definitely want to have all the parts before you take the dash apart. I just did a DD install and it wasn't exactly easy and definitely wasn't quick. I could give you some tips on how to do the best install possible without cutting or splicing into a single wire in the car, and keeping the ability to return the car completely back to stock if you ever decide to. I live in the San Diego area. Let me know if you need some help or tips on the install. I'll gladly give you my shopping list and everything I did during the install.
