Build up around MD spacer
So i basically have a dirty build up around the front of my MD spacer...
I took off the skid plate a long time ago, could this just be the result of dirt attaching over time?
Or should I suspect a leak?
THANKS ALL!

I have that same dirty "build up" between my MD spacer and both upper and lower plenums. When I inquired with Mortordyne about it, they mentioned that after you apply your thin film of oil to the gasket during installation, the heat, oil, and gasket mixes to produce sort of a gel-like sealant and part of that gets pushed out so that you can see it visibly.

You do this if you installed the isothermal spacer. There is a gasket that you put between the lower plenum and intake manifold. Oil needs to be applied to ensure that all the spaces are fill and will not leak. The oil will allow the gasket to expand/contract to fill the needed space.
^oh ok cus i got confused cus OP was talking about the spacer having oil buildup then someone brought applying oil on gaskets so idk if people are calling the same things differents names or wat lol
Well I haven't had this problem since I keep my bay relatively clean. Haven't notice any leakage of oil or buildup, so it's hard for me to judge what it is.
