Anyone do a Bi-Xenon conversion?

I am looking to convert my high beams to xenon to match the xenon headlights on the coupe but everywhere I look the kits all say "YOU WILL LOSE THE ABILITY TO HIGH BEAM." Is this true for all H7 kits? Has anyone tried the conversion and if so to what level of success and where did you get the kit? Thanks in advance.

I hate when companies go cheap on things like headlights. Even the new Maxima has Bi-Xenons. They couldn't even make this change for the 05's?

What they mean by 'lose your ability to high beam' is the ability to 'flash' people.

HID bulbs/ballasts take too long to warm up to be practical for the 'instant-on' that is required in an application with separate high-beam bulbs. So, no more 'flash-to-pass.'

LOL, thats not "cheap". They made it on purpose cause the high beam on our G = fog light also. It has to be yellow. Its nothing about cheap ~_~

all the H4 HID kits I have seen are Xenon lowbeam but not highbeam. I have a H4 HID kit on my motorcycle and that is the way they are too?

Talk to paul at Eastern Autosports. He may be able to swing a group buy for the Xenon H4 kit of you're really interested. Probably around $380 or so. Give him a try if you want. He can bring some to the meet on Sunday!

some kits have a movable shield that will give you both high and low beams. They have a little motor that moves the metal shield. The Catz had that although they don't sell them here anymore. They won't switch as instantly as a regular halogen bulb but they're not too bad.

Most kits are just one or the other though.

If you want to do some work, there is a company selling a bi-xenon complete kit (the lamp has a movable shield for highbeam).

Where did you hear that a foglight has to be yellow? That's a truly rediculous statement. I've owned 5 cars and none of them have had factory "yellow" fogs - the G included.
