Engine Temperature Seems High

Recently I have noticed my 06 G35 running really hot. I have a scanguage 2 which tells my from the ECU what the Water temp and Intake temp is. Anyway my Water temp was running at 235 Degrees in 70 degree weather. The intake temp shoots up to over 100 at a light in the same weather. When I turn on the heater all the way I can get the temp to go to around 220 but it still seems high.

On a side note a lot of my electronics have been going out or shorting out. Such as my TPMS and my Window rolling down half way so I don't know if its related or not.

The tpms and window motors going out are common normal issues with our cars but i wish you luck with the over heating issue.

Whats the mileage on the car? Did you check the coolant level?

Are the fans turning on when it is hot?

^ya all that..you need to diagnose the issue. could even be a weakened radiator cap spring. def +1 on the thermostat, replace that asap

yeah, those coolant temps are way too high. under normal conditions, you really shouldn't see higher than 212F if the fans and t-stat are working correctly.

Chris, when should the passenger fan come on. My car has being over heating. The first time was in the parking lot at wekfest, then it happen again a week ago. I notice the driver side fan comes on, but the passenger fan does not. Are they both suppose to come on at the same time?

Both fans should kick on at low speed at 208F. The fans will go up to high speed if the coolant temps reach 212F.

Fans work I think it may be the thermostat. The car is like an oven when I pop the hood and its burning serious gas because its running so hot. and I feel like it may be even hurting the engine. I need to find the most inexpensive way to fix the problem

I also went to a kwik kar around the area and he used a heat sensor gun and he said the coolent was really hot in one of the hoses

Is the radiator full and is the coolant reservoir between min & max? Has the coolant ever been changed? Is the gauge on the dashboard also showing high temp, or just the scan tool?

Have to say it:
Do NOT open the radiator cap when the engine is warm.

haha I know not to open it but thanks for the heads up.

When the engine is running on the highway for like 30 minutes it will go to 3/4 on the gauge cluster. I have not done a coolant flush and I've had the car since it had 20k
