Another Stealership story

So today out of no where the infamous window issue happen, my passenger side window cease to operate. First it would not go down. Then it went down and would not go back up and after that it would go up, just to go back down. So I get home call Infiniti in Annapolis to get a quote since they did my driver side door 2 years ago while the car was still under warranty. There quote $500.00 get the $#^&* out of here. I politely say thank you and began to bang my head on the desk. After a mild concussion I go to the garage and to perform the bang on the center of the door trick, hold the button up and slam the door trick and so on and so on, eventually I get the window up through all that and some pulling. I found a part I could order has any one used or have any info on this part. Thanks for letting me rant.

Cardone Window Lift Motor

Sheehy infiniti Annapolis is a complete rip off. When my cam sensor went out they wanted $130 plus labor. Darcars nissan in college park had the same part for $70.

I think Autozone has the motors for ~$120 if you have one near you. Dealers will stick it to you if you let them.

I got a quote for $390 to fix the infamous rear axle click (when I was 500 miles out of warranty) so I said fvck that, bought a $6 tube of Valvoline synthetic grease, and spent 2 hours saving myself almost $400.

pm me if you're in socal. My buddys dad hooked me up twice... i was charged $150 for parts + labor.... he has a shop in Santa Ana.

and you can also go aftermarket as well... ive heard the auto zone ones actually hold up better,. My friends dad told me that the life expectancy of the g35 window motor is 2 years. SMH

the window motors die because of the grease inside over-heating and cooking the motor windings. If a parts store wants your core then they are probably rebuilding the things and selling them re-man'd. Nissan re-tooled the motors in '06 using different grease and internals to reduce heat and increase longevity. Everyone thinks the dealer is out to rape but you get the updated part, 12000mi warranty, installed properly and auto timing set. U go to Mom n Pops Lube shop and get a reman'd piece of crap, improperly installed motor and regulator and some grease slinger who has no idea how to set timing and got smudges all over your door panel. Just like every other single business.. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

coupetech, can you clarify by in 06 meaning any 2006 coupe has the reworked motors or was it a mid model year change?

yeah, going to a nissan dealer seems to be the choice around here if you have to go to the dealer. they are supposed to be a bit cheaper and are just as qualified to do the work

^the motor generates alot of heat--its driving a heavy piece of glass attached to a cable-driven multi-pulley regualtor. I guess u know better than the Infiniti engineer rep who told me what the issue is the change was mid-year 06 and was a known problem due to a huge increase in warranty window motor repairs at dealers in florida, texas, etc.. HEAT dummy, heat
