I heard you can do the 5/16 plenum spacer, intake, ebay Godspeed hks look alike exhaust and Magnaflow x pipes for under $1000
and still have the great sound

You might reach 20hp if you have a revup and add these to the list:
HFCs
MREV2
MotorDyne Exhaust
Tune
But that def won't be under a grand though.
Infiniti did a great job on these cars and didn't give us much to play with regards to hp.
If you want any considerable gains gotta go FI.

I dunno I know guys down here that got 20 on a dyno with nothing more than the ebay HKS clone exhaust..
I hear the Kinetix intake is good for a few as well.

I thought I've read that the spacer is good for at least 5-10 verifiable HP by itself.

That sounds about right just add hfcs/test pipes and tune and you got it.

I would add test pipes/HFC's to that list for 20whp. A tune would probably be very beneficial as well.

Well, you can always do a before and after dyno to find out that info

First of all you can't buy the items you listed for a $1K, not even close or used! Why would you consider buying that eBay (want-to-be) HKS exhaust? You drive a quality ride don't down grade it with cheap azz parts. If you want a great sound save your $$ and invest in the MotorDyne spacer and exhaust with HFCs that sounds incredible and worth 20 RWHP!

why headers instead of mrev with md spacer? easier install and more gains. Plus cobb doesn't tune that well for g35s. He'd get more from osiris.

now that i think about it cobb tune you cant run an aftermarket intake or spacer so i guess that's the reasoning behind the headers?

Yes you can, I was using a preset map with a CAI, Kinetix plenum, headers, HFC's and dual exhaust. The A/F was close to normal after installing the accessport. But, your correct about Osiris being the better choice.
