Hi Potential G buyer need advises!

Have looked at the 'noob sticky' i hesitated to start a new thread but oh wth..
Hi guys, I owned a 04 Acura TL w/ navi -decently modded (member of acurazine)... then time had come and i wanted something else so sold it last week. I am looking at few cars right now . 07 g sedan, 06 g coupe, bmw 325, is250.
By posting on g forum, i am expecting biased answers but need you guys' opinions. What do you like about your g35 coupe? any problems? Anything special? Also As much as I dont want to modify this time since my modifications on TL were ****ted, what are simple mods i can do to it? Thanks

What mods are you considering, performance or looks?
The below link is a listing of problems you may or may not experience. I've only dealt with a couple of these on my 06.

hey nice to meet u herrshaft. I am looking at aesthetic mods only. only performance i would consider is -cat delete, cai, pulley, and that infamous stillen muffler? not sure if it works for infiniti as those mods were one of my mods for TL

CAI's and pulley's aren't worth it. ART pipes , MREV2 (if 6MT) and a plenum spacer are good performance mods, plus a tune.

There's many options available for looks, I can't help you there though.

I have a 05 Coupe that I got Friday... its amazing. And no doubt you get more looks and ladies with the G Coupe then the other cars you listed. But one thing with my car is it sounds like it struggles to turn on. But I could need another battery.

Your TB needs a cleaning and then the idle air relearn. Common issue for these.

I've enjoyed the car. Its too slow but thats currently being resolved. The only major maintenance I've done was replaced wheel hubs, struts, and CD changer.

I would do it myself, but don't have the tools and don't wanna break anything.

You only need a rag and Intake cleaner. Theres a DIY floating around here. Its only oil that has been blown through that needs to be lightly wiped. Or the stealership can do it for under 100.

I have the cover over the engine and don't think I have the tools to get if off. I'll check in the basement tomorrow and see what I got. I saw the DIY.

^All you need is an allen wrench (TB) and sockets (10mm I think), I used engine degreaser and a rag. It would be cheaper for you to buy the tools and DIY then go to the stealership. As long as you don't man handle the butterfly you'll be fine.

If you deide to go with the G and do not want to mod with performance parts. My advice would be some nice wheels and lowered suspension. You have to understand that once you start the mods, it just doesn't stop....!!!

Everyman needs a least a basic set of tools

If you can afford to drive a G, you should be able to invest in at least a basic set of tools from your local big box hardware store. Else turn in your man card.
