What A.M. Part will pass CA smog test?
So it's been 4 1/2 years since I own my G. Didn't do much with both interior and exterior. I think it's time to do little bit of upgrade with me performance now. The thing is, I don't know what aftermarket part is legal for California. Basically, I just want to pass the (smog) emission test with an aftermarket part.
Californians please inform me and give me a list parts to get.
Here the two things I've done.
-CAI
-5/16 ISO Plenum spacer
I'm ready to take on another project.
I want a part that would give me HP gain. Also that part should give my car a slightly louder growl but not enough to take away the OEM sound.
Advice needed. so thank you!

It is my understanding that while possible to pass smog with HFCs per the emissions testing you can fail upon a visual test if they notice that you don't have stock cats. If you have a CAI you will also need a CARB sticker for it in order to pass in most cases, sometimes they don't ask for one, but they are required to.

Right once more....^....the OE cats are where the restriction is. To allow your spacer to work efficiently I'd get a z-tube and a K&N drop-in filter. None of these mods will change the sound of your G35 but it will enhance the tone. Why have you waited this long to realize the potential of your G....?

Well, at first I was like, I don't need to mod my car at all because I thought the car was already fast to me. I know my G has potential but I was more than satisfied with OEM. But now it's time to work on my car.
Well, I have a Injen cold air intake which is 2 pieces. I can turn it to a pop charger. Would be as good as a z-tube? or no?
