MINI Mod installed **PIC**
MINI Mod installed **PIC**
My mini mod took me 5 minutes and sure does balance the inside of the engine bay! Much cleaner with this cover installed!

Roadracer,
Do you agree with the 2 posts below that are from others who have bought the Grubbs cover? One says the cover is wobbly and he had to screw the cover to the car to make it secure, the other says he only got 3 of the 5 black snap fasteners that come with it. Did your cover come with the L shaped bracket and all 5 of the fasteners?
Thanks,
Prolix

i got it. It looks great. but installation requires a bit of improvization. Becase it pretty much has only one mounting point that attaches to the car body, it is kinda wobbly. I just used two self tapping screws to screw the cover on the opposite ends so it is permanently attached. Before that i tried to use double tape - my attempt failed. It just plain sucked. Then i tried to use weatherstripping to hold the cover, but it kept on slipping. So that attempt failed too. The screws seem to be the best solution.

I did get the bracket with mine, but just so you know the only thing it does is allow you to put a black snap fastener in the one hole that is closest to the engine in the corner. The bracket does not attach to the car itself as is does on the battery side because there are not any holes drilled for it to attach. If you look in the battery compartment toward the engine you will see a white L shaped bracket, that’s it. So even though i got the bracket I only got 3 of the needed 5 black snap fastener. I guess its not that big of a deal but i will have to pick them up some time.

Re: MINI Mod installed **PIC**
I will somewhat agree with both those posts? I received three black fasteners and the one L bracket. I found that the fact that the cover has no structural purpose, I used one of the enclosed black fasteners and that is it. The weather stripping that is already on the car, seems to hold it in place to my likeing, but I could see how some might not like that? I plan to install the L bracket, the one post is correct that there are no holes on this side to accomodate the bracket, but drilling two holes to make it work is no biggie to me! I could also see if you were real intent for the cover to be really secure (not a big worry to me IMO) you might try to secure that back of the cover as well, but as mentioned above, I got the weather stripping to hold it well enough. Hope that answers your question?
Re: MINI Mod installed **PIC**
I got the white L bracket and 3 fasteners as well. The fasterner packing says "Qty: 5" but you are only supposed to get 3. I thought I was missing 2 fasteners so I went to my Nissan dealer and bought 2 extra before I did the install. Once, I did the install, I realized I only needed 3 fasteners.
Installation:
Observe your real battery cover and look at where the white L bracket goes. The one for your right side is just attached the same way, only symmetrically opposite. Fastener #1 will attach to that bracket once installed. Fastener #2 attaches at the very bottom of the battery cover (think you have to pry off a rubber cover piece on the chassis). Fastener #3 goes at the very top left corner. I had to drill a hole through a plastic piece below so that the fastener could attach to something.
