I'm now among the ranks of those that also saw their audio and climate controls start dying.

I'm currently considering the Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD double din head unit... Found it for sale new at 380.00 shipped... thoughts? anyone had experience with it?

The only thing i'm not completely clear on is what else to I need to order and hand to my local shop to solve the climate control problem? From reading threads i'm a little confused... I need a finisher kit, some type of controller board? I have no idea.. could anyone just dumb it down for me? maybe provide a link to where I can buy?

I have an 03 coupe.

I am also interested in the AVH-P4300DVD. I'm an Alpine guy but since my coupe has nav, i dont need the pay the extra 300-400 for the Alpine for navigation. Also this Pioneer unit has 4volt preout and the Alpine unit has only 2 volt unless you buy ANOTHER piece. ****ers.

 

And yes you need to decide between the metra kit or the jdm kit for the finish/ac controller.

To me the metra is cheap and ugly, JDM all the way but you will pay twice as much for it.

 

Are there different types of finishing kits (JDM) for different configurations of g35? In other words do I need specifically an 03 for a coupe? are there more than one 03 coupe versions?

I'm just amazed that a luxury brand sports car has soooo many common defects..

 

Google search JDM Double din and you will find the information you are looking for.

 

There are different ones. The dash changed in 04 or 05 I think? The older dash has colored trim pieces to match your interior associated with it. Make sure you get the right color

Lol true on the defects! But come on it's like 9 years old it was due to go out!

 

I had the AVHP 4200. very esy to use and clean display. my friend had one too and a red line came across the screen but it has a one year warranty. youll prob want to get the ipod hookup and maybe satellite ? couple hundred bucks for those if you search for good deals...

bump on the expensive but worth it JDM configuration!
