LED License Plate Illegal?

I want to get Ultra white or Xenon white LED bulbs for my license plate and clear corners and wondering has anyone ever been pulled over for them?

I'm trying to find some bright ones, but for around 4-10 dollars. If you have suggestions, let me know that too. Want to buy today so maybe they'll be here by the end of the week.

-Thanks

No, if anything it should be the opposite, I've seen cars here in Chicago run bulbs that look like they're using a bic lighter to light it up with. As long as your plates are clearly visible which mine are like day light-- you will be fine.

Plus the new lexuses and a few other companies come standard now with led lighting in the license plates, some other companies also use cold cathodes for that same effect as well.

Just wanted to make sure cause the cops could say that their to bright or what not. I don't really see to many people with LED here. Except this one G I saw. Guess I don't drive at night enough. But I've seen lifted trucks running yellow headlights.

^+1 on the clear corners, just don't over do it and you'll be fine.. Have a friend that's a CHP here and said he could pull me over for that but he wouldn't .... He said " it's not worth it"

My uncle is a cop and he said you want to avoid red and very blue lights/leds. I have ultra-white plate light and sidemarker and never had any issues.

I've had white LED's all around for over a year and never had any problems with the cops for them. Get the whole package from Henry (mrwong@statik), he has a thread in the vendor section.

I pm'ed another person on here, "Marinelli Motorsports". I wanna put the 4smd in the license plate and 12 in the clear corners.

Anything cheaper. 27 is for both sets.

I have had white leds in my corners, headlight housings, and license plate lights for about 2 years now and no cop has ever said anything about them. My girlfriends dad is an ex-state trooper and did mention that he thinks the license plate ones are so bright it actually makes the plate harder to read but you could always argue that one.

Yea, I've seen a couple pictures and the plate was a little hard to see.
