Color change, help!

I have a dropped 06 IP coupe. My paint has begun to chip on the roof and im thinking of a few options. I need some opinions. Here are my choices.

1.Repaint the roof black and stick with IP, ive seen it done and it doesnt look bad with some black rims to compliment it.

2.Repaint the whole car original IP.

3.Repaint the whole car black.

4.Repaint the whole car skyline purple.

5.Suggestions?

I want to do a skyline purple but im expecting to get destroyed on the quote. $

Well, a repaint of the entire car if done professionally would cost upwards of 3K easily. I was told around 3-4K at the body shop at out dealership. They strip the entire car.

Completely depends on how much you want to spend.. Id say stick with OEM colors so you can trade parts if need be and for other simplicity.. But skyline purple would be bada**! Id say paint the roof black if it were my ride.

Just lay black vinyl on the roof... it'll cover the paint chips and still look good

If you ever plan on selling your car, re-painting it a custom color usually puts people off from buying it. Again.. that's usually.. not always.

And for a proper repaint they will have to strip your car, which can be good or bad.. you may end up with more squeeks and noise as a result. Paying top dollar with a respected paint shop helps though, opposed to going to a maaco or something similar.

Repaint the roof gloss black, unless you have the money for a proper custom paint job.

Black roofs are nice =D Getting it painted looks nicer, but vinyl is a cheaper option. Pictures of Gloss black vinyl overlay from bluebat below.

Unless you don't plan on selling the car, I would keep the OEM color.

Most people don't want a car that has an IP engine bay, and gray exterior. The whole underside would be a different color, under the carpet, etc. You may never see it, but I certainly would upon a PPI.
