haha, There's issues with all rides, and the Coupe is no exception.......but from my experience, the issues are few.
The biggest problem with the car I've found is that it is so addictive.
Get one, and have some real fun.
Welcome to G35Driver BTW. We look forward to hearing of your impressions of the Coupe.

13,000 miles and so far so good. no problems except for the sending unit in my gas tank. fills up to 80% but will be replacing it soon, under warranty! my 01 IS300 is peppy but with the G35, you'll feel the power.

Re: what known problems do G35 Coupes have?
The ones that seem to be talked about on the forum are:
-Power window motors going haywire
-Stereo speakers cutting out
-Squeaky brakes (more so on the non-Brembo equipped G's)
-Excessive oil consumption for a few unfortunate owners
-Soft paint/chips easily
-Rough 6MT shifting
-Fuel door solenoid going out so you can't open the fuel door
That's about all I ever hear of on this board. I bought a new '04 Coupe 6MT a couple weeks ago and now have 1,050 miles on it. It shifts ultra-smooth in my book. Hopefully I'm breaking it in well and it won't get saddled with the excessive oil consumption problem which only seems to affect a small percentage of owners. I've had three Nissan products in the past (and still own a '91 300ZX with 163,000 miles which runs perfect) and have had excellent luck with all three. I wouldn't have bought the G if I thought it would be unreliable. I think you will find the Infinitis to be more reliable than brands like BMW and Mercedes, which seem to have a lot of electrical problems. I also like how the G does NOT put the climate and stereo controls in the Navigation display like other brands often do, which will make it much easier for me to upgrade the stereo in the future. Be sure to put a clear bra on your car to protect the front end from chips.

Re: what known problems do G35 Coupes have?
I have had my G since May and I love a lot of things about it. The only problem I have had are RATTLES!!!! I have had rattle coming from the Drivers Door, Rear deck and side panels. ramborami posted a DIY on Coupe Rear panels and BOSE 6x9 removal which shows step by step on how to remove all rear panels and I basically loaded everything with thick weather stripping tape and so far so good, rattles are pretty much gone. The car is amazing, handles great, performs great and would definitely recommend it. I just wish Infiniti put a little more effort in the interior quality.

I have had a sedan for 1 year then sold it and the coupe fo 2 months and I honestly have to say that the only thing I had to take the car back in for was the brake pads were worn out early, other than that enjoy the ride.

Re: what known problems do G35 Coupes have?
I agree with Jburd...the most embarrasing thing for Infiniti is that this higher priced car rattles like a 10 year old Hyundai after mileage is put on it. Nissan/Infiniti has a long way to go to catch up to Lexus and even Honda or Toyota in interior build quality. The cabin noise is also not up to par...it's like the rear and side windows never seal properly, so the wind noise is too high at freeway speeds compared to other "nice" cars. Those are the only shortcomings on an almost perfect car.

Re: what known problems do G35 Coupes have?
The problems I've encountered on my '04 coupe 6mt:
1. Squeeky brakes (when applying gentle brake pressure
coming to a stop). This is on brembo's. The brakes do
not squeek when I apply heavy pressure to the brake pedal.
2. Chattering clutch upon initial engagement (this was very
apparent when the car was brand new, but has subdued
since. Perhaps I'm used to it and am subconsciously
slipping the clutch in a certain way to minimize chatter).
3. Adjusting the driver's seat to fit my size/height causes
the driver's seat belt holster to rub against the seatback.
This causes an annoying, constant squeeking sound when
driving. The only fix is to adjust the seat to a less
comfortable position so that there is clearance between the
seatbelt holster and the seatback.
4. Rattling passengerside seatbelt holster. Fix is to buckle
the passenger seatbelt, even when the seat is not occupied.
5. Harsh shifter (lots of vibration and heavy shifting resistance).
In the 2005 model's, they listed "reduced shifting resistance"
as one of the fixes.
6. Cement grinder transmission sounds. The tranny likes
to chatter and make grinding sounds, especially when
turning off the car. This is supposed to be normal, according
to a few people on the forums.

Paint chips very easily, bad window motors, rattles, rear tires wearing prematurely in the centers, and windshield wipers shuddering. Other than that, It's a great car! All cars have some problems.

Re: what known problems do G35 Coupes have?
I have had the following issues:
1) Fuel gauge sensor replaced twice,
2) Headlamps interior reflector lense cracked on left and right,
3) Rattles on the interior,
4) Front end TSB fixed,
5) I loathe the local dealership (many long stories),
6) Paint chips are very annoying,
7) Brembos squeal when lightly braking,
8) 6MT was acting up, but dealership changed fluid and works great again,
9) Love the performance and driving it!
