Dub Dilemma

Alright, so I'm on a mad budget, but I am in need of new wheels. I'm looking at picking up a set of 20's, but I'm afraid this might look too ugly without a drop. I've always planned a drop before, and I know I'll get it eventually, but it will be months of riding around on 20's before I can drop. Is this going to be unbearably ugly? Anyone supply pictures?

Not an option at the moment. I need to replace the wheels and tires that I have due to damages.

As long as you don't go with 22"+, it won't look that bad. I don't see a problem with it since you plan on lowering anyways.

You've got it backwards, drop first so you can figure out what specs you'll need to achieve the look you're going for.

And a stock G on 20s looks like a Range Rover.

lol. That's really what I was afraid of. I seem to be getting mixed answers x_x I think I'm just going to ride around like a Range Rover for a while anyways. They're going to be all black so that might mitigate some of the ugly :-p

I would just say plan out how low you want to go based on pics of people with similar setups and then just get the springs or coils soon if not at the same time. If you just are getting springs you can get those for only a hundred or two on top used.

20s sounds too ghetto on a coupe, a sedan maybe, but a coupe.... going to look like those hummers on 26s

Haha. Alright. I thought about spending a little more for lowering springs to tide me over until my broke *** can get some coils, but it just scares me because I heard it will lead to needing a camber kit and new struts anyways, so the cost saving wouldn't really help. Or I could just leave my G in the garage for longer even though the sun is coming out

Anyways, thanks for your input everyone. I'm now more persuaded to not get the 20's.

get the 20's and drop later.. thats what i did... sum folks gonna flame ya but who cares do what u need to do first.. then drop it. I can tell u this.. a drop is gonna end up costing u about 700.. u got to buy the springs + labor (installing) + camber kit (with toe bolt) + if u drop too low u gonna need a front camber kits and thats about (500) alone + alignment = umm u might be over 700

stock springs on 20's

That definitely looks like it's sittin' really high x_x But it's not super atrocious. Any more pictures of the 20's on non-lowered? Do you think the fact that the wheels are all black will help it aesthetically at all?

This is a great question. What about 20's on a stock 06 with factory sport suspension? The sport is already lower than regular, run of the mill, dime a dozen, non-sports. Anyone have pics?
