Looking to buy G, couple of Q's

New user! Just saying hey!
So my dc5 got totalled. Looking for a new platform to play with. Either g35 or 350z. Starting like the G more than and more. Especially the tail lights.
Anyway, with my price range, i am seeing alot with 90,000 miles on them. I tired searching but could find the cost of how much the brembo's cost to replace vs stockies. I know a clutch may be involved as well and i have found replacements already.
anything else i should consider?
thanks

Welcome.
Without posting a chapter book, Search and you will find the answers to your questions.
Usually I am not one to say "search", but there are so many subjects to touch on that I dont have the time to post on.

Better yet, "Research"....

Welcome to DRIVER! Depending on your budget you need to find the lowest mileage G35 possible and a plus would be service records. Any question you can think of has already been answered, the key is using our SEARCH. Read everything you can, "Knowledge is power!"

I will pitch in since I was recently in your shoes and picked up a 05 G35 Sedan 6mt with the Revup motor. You said clutch so that means you are looking at manual and in 05 and 06 the motors had increased power. That had a tendency to consume oil and you will want to hear the engine in person and check the oil levels and get service history.

The transmission were upgrade to latest revision CD009 which had beefed up syncro for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The swap happened in 07/04 for 350z and i believe 05 and 06 for G35. You will want to get under the car with a camera and snap pictures of the tranny to verify.

I linked my thread where i took a ton of pictures of key suspension components like LCA bushing & CR bushings along with transmission and lots of other components. Get familiar with what parts to keep an eye out for when you inspect due to the mileage of the vehicle. Mine has 82k miles on it and needs belts and plugs in 6-10 months along with fluid changes. Maintenance is not really hard or expensive if you can get help from forum members and look at the guides posted on the forum

So i went and checked out this 05 6mt coupe. It didnt pass inspection due to a leaking flex pipe. ALso have tires cupped on inner edge(is tire feathering still a problem?
Also they mentioned that the engine was damp around the oil pan. Bad gasket?
The damp engine part scares me. anyone else have this problem?

tires will wear more on the inside unless you get front and rear camber arms to adjust it. Also have them check, or check yourself, around the valve covers as these leak as well.

Tire feathering is an issue with any car if you don't have the correct balance and alignment but can also be caused by worn out suspension parts. Gaskets are always an issue with high mileage vehicles they just need to be replaced. Flex pipe....in the exhaust system? There again they wear out, like all parts on a high mileage car....
