Suggestions for a new owner

I am looking at the G35 Coupe and the 05 Mustang GT. Although I think with the G35 I could drive it in winter and not feel guilty about it. I live in Ottawa Canada so we do see a bit more snow then most of the people on the forums. Right now I have a dealer down to $43500 Cnd on a 2004. Although I dont know if I like the beige interior. What do you recommend for break in and timeline for things like synthetic oil, driving hard? Any good clubs to join for discounts on parts? I have been lurking for a while a lot of good information here.

Re: Suggestions for a new owner

G35 coupe is a no-brainer.

Beige. IMO makes interior look bigger and it's definitely cooler in the summer. Tip, get clearmats to protect carpet floormats.

Breakin. Per manual, during first 1200 miles: vary speed, don't run over 4K rpm, don't accelerate at full throttle in any gear, avoid quick starts, avoid hard braking, and don't tow a trailer for first 500 miles. Note, you'll hear others say drive it like you stole it; I'd trust Infiniti engineers first.

Synthetic oil. I'd wait till 7500 miles to give engine time to breakin; I use Mobil 1 5W30.

Discount clubs. This forum and google are your friends.

Re: Suggestions for a new owner

Congrats on your G!

Are you getting the 18 inch wheel/tire package? If so, you need to get a set of 17 inch winter wheels/tires ASAP. The 18 inch tires won't work in the winter. Even with the stock 17 inch wheels, you might want to look into winter tires given the amount of snow you will see.
Have fun and drive safely.

Already have been reading posts on that. I will be checking back later this week if I get the G35. I saw someone who is running 17" same size and is not having problems with the abs and tire monitor.
