Blacked Out Grille Almost Complete
Blacked Out Grille Complete & INSTALLED
Decided to pull the grille and try out the blackout DIY. Turned out really well. Taking the side clips was a pain in the *** until you stop, look, and think about it for a second. Won't be an issue the next time I take it off and try the plastic coating in black to avoid rock chips.
Waiting another couple hours before installing it, will post final pics-hopefully I'll still have a little light

Nice. I painted mine using plasti-dip (in b4 the plasti-haters). Looks good. Did it about 3 months ago and it still looks perfect. But im taking it off soon and re-doing it with real paint cause I want a gloss black look.
Here's a pic I took a couple days ago for a photoshoot. Dont have one close up but it looks identical to yours.

I did the same thing but couldnt find the duplicolor flat black so i used rust oleum and the nozzle as good as duplicolor on. It is so much hard to keep even coats using it since it is a regular circle nozzle and not a directional one like duplicolor paints. I ll have pics up tomorrow after I install it. I just didn't clear coat it since I wanted it to stay as flat as possible.
just did mine on my IP since the chrome was fading. I used semi-gloss black rustoleum and about 5 coats.
Held the can about 10" away and let the overspray cause a subtle textured look and lessen the gloss finish. came out great, i'll try to upload some pics tomorrow
