What is a Z Tube and what does it do for my car?

short answer. it's a bigger diameter intake tube. reportedly 6 whp gain. most people put a "pop charger" on it too which is a conical air filter.

The Z tube is the one on the right from a 350Z.
The one on the left is from a G35.
The Z-Tube doesn't have the baffle on the top/bottom so it is a little more efficient and slightly louder.
It's usually one of the 1st mods people do cause it's cheap and easy to install.

do a search ! some people say it makes gains, but my dyno results proved otherwise..

basically all you will notice is a louder induction noise after about 5thou. the fitment isnt great either. dont waste your money !

^^^ well i wouldnt consider something to have good fitment if it yanks on the airbox so hard you have to put the plastics piece that comes off the side back on to straighten it out... the end at the airbox was extremely hard to extend far enough, maybe it was just mine ? but it deffinitely doesnt fit easier than stock.
