Sorry to post this if this was already covered but I don't see anything regarding engine sounds while driving (if this is a sympton of OC issues that is). Recently I had noticed my car making a raspy sound while driving at low speeds though parking lots in 2nd gear or so. Especially when releasing my foot off of the gas pedal. Just to fill you in I purchased my 06' coupe in 6MT with 17,400 on the clock & had an oil change at my dealer before I took delivery. Now it currently has 19,450 or so...thanks!

 

That doesn't should like an OC issue but keep checking your oil level anyway, you do check it right? OC begins with your going thru oil and a clattering sound when the oil level get low. If your G continues to make the raspy noise you described run it by Nissan and have them take a look.

Maybe it is a clattering sound & I am just describing it as a raspy sound while driving under low speeds? I plan to have the oil changed tomorw morning but was curious as to look for any sounds from the motor other than checking the oil (I have not checked it recently btw) but will find out soon enough. Is this clattering sound occuring while driving or while sitting during ideling?

 

check the level before you have it changed. monitor your oil level every 1000 miles. or so and if excessive oil is being burned.
