I'm sure they talk about ours as much as we talk about theirs.Well maybe a little more . There's some nice rides on the market these days, (especially in the Nissan/Infiniti camp).
Merlin fixed your link up for ya..

Wow first time I ever saw people on a BMW forum say good things about the G in the entire thread! People that say that the G sucks or other bad things are either jealous or biased because they own another make, the same goes for the BMW they are great cars period. A real car enthusiast won’t bash on a car make just because they don’t own it.

Interesting reading on Yahoo's Auto section. Consumer Reports Top Picks for 2003 says:
"On the other hand, the BMW 330i dropped off our list because its reliability fell below average, according to our latest reader survey."
It's a great car and it was my first choice for a new car before I saw the G35 coupe. Interesting how people are starting to view BMW's.
It doesn't say anything about the G35, but does mention the Chrysler Crossfire and the Pontiac GTO coming in 2004.

Re: Bmw forums talking about G35/350Z
yeah i actually posted a lot on e46fanatics and dtmpower.net before i chose the G35C over the 330Ci... I was just about to purchase my 330Ci and then started reading up on the G35C and decided that thats really what i wanted. I'm happy to see that the bimmer fans are civilized enough and mature enough to respect the wonderful aspects of the G35C...
for me, if i had money to burn, i'd go for the Bimmer... like so many people have said, bimmer is the ultimate driving experience... and its the quality name... but since i'm tight on money, i'm going for the biggest bang for my buck, Infiniti, but I don't feel like i've gotten ripped off in any way... both are great cars, its just if you have the money for the name or not =D
and i've seen some pretty sick-lookin bimmers out there... they look mean man =P

I'm a long time poster/member of e46fanatics. I know a lot of e46fanatic members that are thinking about trading their bimmers for a G. I think I was the first to make that transition, and I always get Pm's from the other members asking for my opinion.

Re: Bmw forums talking about G35/350Z
Just bought a G35 Coupe - BS, 5AT, Premium Pkg., Perf. Wheel Pkg, Aero Pkg.
I have been driving a BMW 540 for the last 4 years -a fantastic car - just gave it to the wife! I never thought I could be happy with a car without a V8 again. But so far I am impressed with the engine in the G35. I will let you know after the break-in period which car I think is faster, but just the fact the G can approach the V8 league is really saying something. I feel the G engine is definately more powerful than the BMW 6's, except maybe the M3.
I think a lot of BMW drivers will defect to G35!

Re: Bmw forums talking about G35/350Z
It's so funny. I think about 80% of the people here were considering the BMW 330CI (the G's main competitor) before they bought a G35. So I guess we ALMOST were E46 owners and that doesn't make us that much differant. We were all looking for every similiar things from our cars. As for my self I think I just wanted to be a little more differant and radical and the G represented that for me. I think some others here may agree with me on that. But... I think BMW makes some great cars and trust me when I say I was this close, ><, to getting one. Of course like many others here if I had the cash then I would have bought the E46 M3 cause it's just a beautiful well designed vehicle, (exactly like my G!).

Re: Bmw forums talking about G35/350Z
There's a reason for that.. Infiniti built the G35 to go after the 3-series. They've done an admirable job. It's good for the market overall.. as now you see BMW scrambling to put out a Performance Package for the 330 sedan, and for '04 they've gone to 6-speeds standard on all 3's. The luxury-sport car market is going to get competitive over the next few years.

Re: Bmw forums talking about G35/350Z
When it came time looking for a car the 3 never crossed my mind because two of my cousins already had one and I wanted a car that had everything and that was the G35. The only other car I considered was an A4 becuase the 1.8T is a great car to mod since it alread a turbo and it had awd. But then I kept reading about the G and i fell it love. What really sealed the deal was that G35 in Japan is know as the Skyline. so ya .I dunno how accurate ur report of 80% of u wanted a 3 is.

Dead, it's just a guestimate man. It's not like I went through over every post and compiled numbers. I do spend alot of time on this forum though, more than my boss would like. I have noticed alot of people mentioning the 3 series was a consideration first and it is the direct competitor for the G coupe, but thats just my $.02.
You are right that there are too many out there and that was one of there reasons I wanted a G. I can't help but giggle when I walk out from the store and there are people standing around it eyeing it or want to sit in it for a moment. That is also the reason I didn't go with the new '03 A4.
I love how it looks and the all wheel drive but it has no power without at least a stage 2 kit and alot of people in my area have them. Heck, most of my friends drive Audi's or VW's so I like being the sore thumb. I always show up at their Audi/VW meets and everyone wants to race like the G is a benchmark or something.
You should see my good friend Andy's A4, it has a stage 2 kit and it's FAST. He can easily stay with me through all the gears. I just wanted a car that was already fast and not very widespread with out having to mod it extensively.
