Engine feels like it misses when accelerating hard.

Hey guys.

Having a problem with my 04 g35c, 6mt. When I accelerate hard, at about 3500 rpms it feels like the engine misses and the entire car jolts. In other words, all power is lost for .5 a sec. If I slowly build up to those RPMS this does not happen.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

I'm at 95k miles, and I first noticed this yesterday. It was not doing this before this last weekend.

I'm about to take the car on a fairly long drive, and I'd like to get the issue resolved before I do.

Any direction would be appreciated!

Sounds like your clutch may be slipping. I'm no expert though.

if the clutch is going out the car won't jolt, it will rev up and then catch.

Are you noticing the problem every time you accelerate? Or does to car seem to only do it once up to temp?

Seems to do it only when I'm giving it a little more gas. Like I said, if I accelerate slowly it doesn't happen.

The clutch doesn't feel like it has a hard time catching, but I could be wrong.

Pretty sure I figured it out.

Tonight on the way home I took it into higher RPMs and the engine stuttered. VDC, Slip, SES light came on. Same sypmtoms as 4 months ago when I had to replace the bank 1 Camshaft position sensor. My guess is bank 2 has gone bad, as many people here as well as my mechanic said they usually go bad around the same time.

Here's hopin - 80 dollars and 2 hours of my day off (quality time with my car) sounds a helluva lot better then a new clutch or worse. The clutch feels great, no slippage at all going into first/reverse and shifts are smooth as ever.
