Cool G35 purchase

Hello everyone,
I just got rid on my 350z and now in the market to purchase a G35 !
I know the Z had its issues with oil comsumption, as my 03 did. I wasn't a fan of that at all. I also understand that it is more common in the rev-up engines?

I currently have my eye on a 06 G35 auto with 35K miles. It has a rebuilt title due to rear end damage, I could get into it a great price but dont want to deal with the oil comsumption issues again.

What issues should I be looking for while viewing car I might purchase? Any other well known faultly parts I should be aware of.?

Is there a way to pre determine engine issues using the VIN? Also whats everyone's option on stealing this car for under $12k due to the rebuilt title after the repairs are checked out? Keep in mind I'm in the market for a G35 in FL in the $12 +/- range..

Thank for your time and imput!

Personally I would not buy a rebuilt title car because of insurance issues and future resale value. Just my 2 cents.

wouldn't recommend a rebuilt title, also 12k is not a steal for a rebuilt title for sure

I was in a similar situation. I found an 03 with a rebuilt title for 7k in the dallas area. I decided against it for the reasons stated by lung. I kept searching and found a clean one for a very good price.

yea i would stay away from a rebuilt you'll never get any kind of resale value and it will never ride the same plus who knows what problems could come from it

One of my relatives bought a salvage car. Price wasn't even that great BUTT, he had a bad wreck and my mechanic (who is also his mechanic) told me that the accident my brother had was a direct result of the car not being repaired properly after the original wreck. You never know what exactly went wrong. It's not worth your life.
