What I understand Bob is that there are several factors that can cause our cars to hydroplane and it's not just about tire width/size. Vehicle weight, tread depth and design along with compound also contribute to skating on that sheet of water. I'll take a fat tire (not in a bottle) with the right tread design to skinny tires 24/7 and I won't crash....

you know.. in the rain wider tires won't create TOO big of a difference as long as it's with "specs"...

but in the snow.. BIG difference, where you need all the pressure for grip..

just saying.. i know you don't care

I'm between intermediate and expert. For those that argue over 2 foot driving vs. 1 foot driving. If you're scanning far enough down the road, reaction time to reference the brake pedal should be a non-issue. That is a big fault for many drivers. The guy that romps off the line, cuts back and forth over 3 lanes of traffic to get ahead of the next guy, rides someone's a$$ because they aren't getting out of his way. Then to only be two cars ahead of you at the next light. He raises his stress level, drives erratically because of that and makes everyone else mad because of his antics. If he would scan 10-15 cars down the road and plan his course he can weed through most situations and be prepared for any obstacles that get in his way.
