Buying new car 20k?

Newbie here, I've been searching around for a g35 coupe and finally found one close to home (north NJ).
2005 g35 coupe manual 44k miles, has navigation, leather seats, moon roof, and Bose system. The body is really clean no dents or scratches.

BMW dealership is asking 19.9k, even though it has low miles and its really clean is this a reasonable price for a 05? Im looking to finance it through the dealership, how much should I try asking for it?

Thanks for the help!

PS: I did search around the forums already but some of the posts are about a year old.

I got my '05 coupe a couple years ago with 45K miles. Has pretty much everything the one you're looking at has, and the body was in perfect condition. I paid $16.5K. See if you can knock it down to $19K or $18.5K. Still a little on the higher end, but more reasonable than $20K.

Keep in mind that its a dealership. I would really recommend finding a G that is being sold by a private seller instead of dealership so save some $$$. Keep in mind that private sellers may rip you off. Worth the investment to get it checked out by a mechanic. I got my G for 9K !!!!!

Welcome to DRIVER Jay, sounds like you need to shop around. That's too high for an '05 with 45K miles on it's clock....unless you walk in and offer them $16,5 and they accept.

+1 on what Gary said. Stealerships suck. I would definitely try and go lower, if not, find another.

I just paid 15k for an 03 coupe loaded 3 weeks ago with 60k miles. KBB price for a dealer was 19k and private was 16k. I really wanted an 05 or 06 but couldn't find one in the east that was under 19k that didn't have alot of chips or high miles. That might not be a bad price for NJ.

Jay before you dive into any car get a CARFAX and some service history when ever possible. If the first G35 you looked at is super clean it's worth a few more $$ but don't get taken advantage of by the Stealership, and no you don't need a 100K mile warranty, one year is good enough!

I think if you can, you should go with a check from your bank so you dont have to finance. I have found that you have ALOT more wiggle room and say so when it comes to that. The last car I bought from a dealership was significantly reduced since in essence I paid cash.

They dont like your offer, then leave. I have been chased after many times.

Thats way too much. I almost bought a 2005 coupe with 56k miles, premium everything, perfect condition, sport, and it was 15.5k. This was only about a month ago.

It was in North Jersey as well. I got the G i have now there too.
