Can someone explain to me...

Why so many people recommend people stay away from the 03's? I've read countless hours of issues with the g35 coupe and I haven't really read anything 03 specific vs 04 05. Just wondering if I've missed something?

Seriously man, did you not read my post? I said I've read quite a bit and not seen anything specific to the 03 vs 04/05. This community seems quick to judge people with questions they COULDN'T find. If you can't contribute, you should do one of these two things

A) Don't reply
B) Eat a D ICK

Not that I'm aware of Big G. Seeing as how they are almost exactly alike except for cosmetic changes, I can't imagine what the big show stopper would be.

To be completely honest, in all the time I've been here I've never read a thread with a specifc 2003 model year problem that couldn't be applied to other cars of the same generation.

I may also have missed something, but I can't think of what it might be.

Did you find an 03 you have your eye on? Lots and lots of members here rolling 03s with normal older car issues, but nothing major.

Don't mind the clowns by the way - they keep things interesting. You go numb to it after awhile. This is a great community with a few guys that forget they were new once too.

Thank you for the mature adult response. It's quite nice.

I actually just bought an 03 a few weeks ago and love it. I just keep reading posts of people who keep saying stay away from the 03 and I can't figure out what difference there is between the 03-05 other than like you said cosmetic.

My pleasure.

If you have an 03 and she's running well - don't sweat it. Lots of folks talk about issues and before you know it something that has no basis in reality becomes fact.

As long as you keep her serviced and take car of her she'll be fine.

How many miles on the new 03? Color?

You need to do an intro thread and post some pics of the new ride.

Its a DG with 88k miles. No rips in the leather, new tread. Car appeared well taken care of. I actually did post a new and saying hello thread. Link below!

The only general problems with these cars from 2002 to 2004 years are the Compression rods going fast ( if dropped) they last a little longer but doesn't last to long, window motors don't last a long time unless you get really lucky, the worst is the stupid circuit board and headunit ( the heat gets stuck and can't change it) that's about it i think other then rattles the car is pretty solid if it's taken care of.

I think most people complain about the interior and headlights the most. I have an 04.

thanks guys for the responses! I was just trying to clarify if the 03 was specifically the red headed step child of the lineup. I kinda knew going in of the common problems but couldn't figure out why ppl were put off by the 03 vs 04/05

Missed it. Nice looking G and only 88 on an 03. DG is a great color, but I'm biased.

There are a lot of guys running around these boards with newer model year cars with a lot more miles than you're carrying.

I also have an 03' DG coupe with 106k miles on it. Had it since early February and so far no problems with it that would make me believe it was specifically an 03 problem.

The window motors and the passenger power seat motor are the only problems I have experienced/read that routinely goes wrong in the 03-05 models of G's

Some 03 ecu's can't be tuned with Uprev Osiris. That would be a problem for me :/

Since I also have 03 76k. I would say the problems I encounter are Rear axle click; Radio units, CD tape etc; 3rd brake lights, compression rod (when u drop); side curtain air bag recall (which i got a letter from Infiniti); My window motors are still good knock on wood. And heard that ecu can't tuned with Uprev Osiris as almostflips said.nonetheless my baby still runs good since I got her back in 04. (just take care of all the fluids and maintenance I guess)
