every time I see a thread on gas mileage people talk about how much they get per tank...these cars for the most part have gas guages that are not properly calculated...the ONLY way to tell actual mileage is to FILL tank and observe mileage on speedo. run car for approx 100 miles. fill up tank and observe how many gallons it took. My gas guage shows less than a quarter tank will actually have 10 gallons in it..so one cannot go by gas guage...my car always gets 27.2 Miles per gal. turnpike @65mph

My 04 AT coupe gets 17.2 mpg on average. I calculate it at every fill up. I drive about 80% city though. Seems like that's about the average for my situation. I think the 60k service will do you good.

How far you normally drive will make a huge difference in fuel economy. Short trips will result in chitty fuel economy in every car.

I get about 19-20 mpgs city and around 26 on hwy.

My last tank was 412 miles with 275 of that hwy, the rest city. I filled up with 18.7 gallons (topped off)

My '03 auto w/89k gets around 330-350 a tank with 40/60 city/hwy split. The OP's mpg is a concern though...

VERY good point. My gas gauge doesnt really work, so this is the only way Im able to get my mileage. I have heard that the floater goes bad on Gs easily/quickly... When my gas light turns on, I still have about half a tank left....
