Passport 9500ix (radar detector) mount?

Passport 9500ix (radar detector) mount?
So I'm planning to buy a Passport 9500ix to help fight back against the sudden spike in BS speeding tickets because CA is broke.
Now, before some of you post your a stupid "higher-than-thou" response of "slow down" or "drive the speed limit" or some other BS, let me clearly say that I'm not doing this to go 140mph to work and school every day.
I'll only let you say that if you are one of those guys that's gone the speed limit your entire life with every car you've owned.
Anyway, since anything on the windshield or hanging off your rear-view-mirror is illegal in CA, I was wondering if any of you have found a nice way to mount your detector? Most of the dash mounts I've seen won't work or at the very least will obstruct the click/AC setting display area.
Any serious input appreciated.

Depends on the cops attitude i guess, i got cited for Tint and having a radar detector on my windshield a few months back. Gave me a fix-it ticket and marked it UNCORRECTABLE! which is B/S so im taking it to court, which my court date is not till September!!! i guess everyone seems to be fighting their tickets LOL
I had it on the top right hand corner of the rear view mirror right next to it. I was like are you serious?! might as well cite me for having a rear view mirror!
Anyways, i dont think that there is anything you can do, the law says you can only have a GPS mounted on the lower left corner ( I THINK ) nothing else.

But back on topic...the blendmount looks really nice, hanging off the rear view mirror, but isn't this technically illegal as well? My friend was literally cited for having our school parking pass on his mirror (and it was sideways so it didn't block any of the view from the driver's seat...).

Here is the California Law...there is more but too long to post...
26708. (a) (1) A person shall not drive any motor vehicle with any
object or material placed, displayed, installed, affixed, or applied
upon the windshield or side or rear windows.
(2) A person shall not drive any motor vehicle with any object or
material placed, displayed, installed, affixed, or applied in or upon
the vehicle that obstructs or reduces the driver's clear view
through the windshield or side windows.
(b) This section does not apply to any of the following:
(1) Rearview mirrors.
I would fight the sitation that your friend got, if it happened in California.

If you want to avoid the issue completely you can always go with a remote mounted detector. The sensor mounts behind the bumper and a control module is mounted to your dash. They're a little more expensive but should guarantee you no more hassles. Check this link for an example. They have a 9500 remote but it's $1800.

You can't technically put it anywhere without it being mounted illegally. The best thing you can do is mount it high on the windshield so the suction cups are hidden by the factory tinted area and just the sensor is exposed. Then just run the hard wiring along the headliner and down the A pillar. It's not very easy to see in this position to begin with.
If you're really concerned, pull it out upon your traffic stops (hopefully having the radar detector will reduce these).

Many of these apply to other states, but since I live in CA, I'll go by its laws.
Tint - illegal. How many users on here have tint?
High-flow cats - illegal. How many users on here have those?
Any non-CARB approved intake/headers - illegal. How many people on here have one of those - intakes especially?
No front plate - illegal. How many users on here have a front plate mounted and do you comment in every thread that has a picture of a G with no license plate about how he should put one on?
Get on a freeway CA when it's not stop and go and you'll find pretty much everyone in the left couple of lanes going faster than the 65mph posted limit. According to CA law you can be stopped and cited for exceeding that 65mph limit, regardless of how many other people are going that fast.
I don't want to be (and have been) that guy that was just cruising along with the flow of traffic but the officer decided to pick me to fill his quota.
I just want to help my odds of not getting a BS speeding ticket.
Now, if a cop catches me doing 140mph, then I'll pull over and accept my punishment since what I was doing was wrong. But to get pulled over for following the flow of traffic (which is proven as the safest speed to drive) is complete, utter BS.

And I just mount my valentine 1 on my sunvisor, still able to detect from large distances without a problem, front and back especially (kinda hard to be hit from the side from a far distance and ever get close enough to notice...)
