Question Problems with window's?

I have been having problems with my coupe's driver and passenger side windows. its an 03.

sometimes, when i open the door, the windows don't do that little rolling down 2 inches thing, and a whining sound comes from the up/down button, as if the windows are trying to roll down. and then the door doesnt close properly because the window didnt roll down. and when i close the doors, the whining stops and the windows are dead. they wont roll up or down. after like 15-20 minutes, they all of a sudden start working again. i took it to the dealer, and they put in new switches and changed one of the motors under warranty. but it still does it.

it seems like it only does it when the passenger side door is opened first.

anybody else having this problem?

My drivers window has been replaced already, the reason is similar....the window wouldn't retract when I opened my door, then it went down half way, and wouldn't return to the up position.....

The motors are notorious for failing, and the dealer will replace it at no charge....

My new motor does not lower the window as much as the original, And I think during the winter months I will keep it down just a little so it doesn't give me any problems freezing and not being able to retract like normal.....

I have an '04 Coupe (July build) with 1200 miles. So far, the windows have done fine. Does this window problem still occur on seemingly every car or is it mainly an '03 problem? When the dealer replaces the motor, is it with a part with an improved design or an identical part which would fail again?

This has been a common problem. The window motor is bad and has to be replaced. Bring it in!

I remember during the rainy season..my motor was acting all crazy...rolling all the way down when i wanted it up. Finally i guess it was the end of the motors life and completely blew on me. Thank God the motor blew when the window was closed all the way up. I would've been arsed out!!

Unfortunately this happens to the 04's also. I have a August built coupe and i just got the passenger door window motor replaced. The problem wasn't the window going up or down, but that the window was going very slowly, not in unison with the driver's side window. But alas, its still a little slow, faster than before, but still slow.

Recently my driver-side window on my coupe was having problems. When I tried to put the window up it would go all the way up and then go half way back down. If I tried a second time it would stay up.

However it got worse and one day would only make it half way up and would then go all the way back down. I took it in and they replaced the motor. It works perfectly now and they told me they have replaced a lot of window motors for 2003.
