Unusual tire wear

Hello All,
2003 coupe owner (Auto/DG). I've been an active "post reader", but this is the first post I've initiated.

Anyway, I just got some new tires for the car (michelin pilot sports) to replace the original goodyear rsa's. I'm by no means a tire expert, but when changing out the tires, we found an odd wear pattern on only the right rear tire (this is the same tire that I had a nail in which forced me to get new tires, plus the fact I had 20K on them). The inside wall of the tire had worn down to where you could see the belts, etc.. No other tire had this type of wear. The garage seemed to believe it wasn't an inflation/maintenance issue, but rather a possible issue with the mounting brackets, etc... that may be causing the tire to not line up in a neutral/straight manner.

Again, I'm not a tire guy but was wondering if anyone had similar issues or might be able to offer some advice. Is this something I should have the dealer check out?

Thanks,
WGLSU

Sounds like either the toe or the camber on your right rear tire was out. Did you notice any alignment issues? Did the car pull to one side or the other?

Thanks for the feedback neffster.
No alignment issues that I can recall. I've never noticed any pull to speak of. Maybe I'll have the dealer look at the toe/camber as you mentioned. Hopefully it's a warranty item if there is something wrong.
