Actual service contract experiences

Just a little background, I had an 04 G' for about 3 years, LOVED the car. Sold it for financial reasons recently. But, in that time a had the all too familiar window motor go out, c.d. player not always work the best and replacing the brake pads like it was a job.

It wasnt all that expensive to replace those things but there all common gripes as ive read and searched on here and every little thing adds up.

Well anywho, one of my neighbors has the same year G' but with an extended service contract threw this United Repair Programs company. Just threw small talk about the car, i asked if she ever had those same ol' problems, and she said yeah, but it was all covered under her warranty.

Ive heard all the stories about he said she said bs about warranties and service contracts, so please dnt post if thats all you got. Wondering who on here has had a warranty, and how their luck / experience has been with it.

Reason I ask, been regretting selling my G everyday since i sold it, looking to get back into one, and figured having the warranty included with the cost of the car (if i could make that happen some how) would be my best bet.

thanks again,....srry for the novel....lol

Are you talking about aftermarket warranties, or Infiniti Extended service plans?

I guess both. I called that United Repair Programs company she told me about, just for general info, and we actually conference called a local Infiniti Dealer, and the service manager said they except their policies and have before with no issues.

Just looking for i guess just anything after factory coverage,...coverage experiences.

In a very general sense, your experiences will probably vary by dealer. You also need to look at the actual contract to see exactly what is covered, whether it is inclusive or exclusive, etc.

I did research on this and ended up going with one of the best in the nation, Mercury Insurance Group. They have been excellent to deal with, offer zero deductible and their offered agreements are bumper to bumper except for general wear items (tires unless it's a road hazard and the tire is not repairable, brake pads, wipers, etc.). They also carry an A rating with the BBB.

Best of Luck,
Jason

thanks man!
so claim wise u've had good luck?

i just tried searching them,. doesnt look life they offer any sort of coverage, other than like accident type car insurance.

plus United Repair Programs said that 'bumper to bumper' is no longer a legal word to use to define the coverage per attorney generals.

Ive done my research too.... :P

just back to,..yeah,.. actual peoples experience as a whole. Regardless of what company, if it turned out cost-effective for them,. or was worth the peace of mind?

My aftermarket warranty has paid for itself already. It paid for most of a rear wheel bearing replacement and all of an electric seat motor/base replacement.

I have had 100% coverage for every single thing over the last 8 months (since getting the warranty). They even covered $125 of a rear tire that was unrepairable due to a nail in the shoulder (the tire on the car and out the door with tax was $135 so I paid $10 but they covered more than the cost of the tire).

I can assure you they offer extended warranties as that is what I purchased through my credit union.

I used the term 'bumper to bumper' they did not, but that is how the coverage that I purchased is (as I described in my original post).

My policy has already paid for itself in 8 months and I purchased a 3 year / 36,000 mile warranty.

I even had a dealership do work on a Saturday and then call Mercury the following week to get payment (I offered to pay and let Mercury reimburse me but because my brother works there they said they would take care of it). The service writer at the dealer told my brother that it was the easiest and quickest warranty claim he has dealt with in 20+ years and that he was shocked they were so great to deal with (he said he was on the phone with them for about 3 minutes total).

Hope that helps clarify, I would have nothing to gain here by making false claims.

Best of luck,
Jason
