Right side battery cover

I've used the search button but couldn't quite find what I'm looking for. I'm installing the right side battery cover. I cut off the lip along the entire left side of the cover. But my question is, how do I make the black plastic fasteners hold the battery cover down? There are three holes (circled in picture) along the top of the cover that do not have any kind of support to insert a plastic fastener. Do I need to add some kind of plate for support and drill a hold behind the actual cover so the fastener can hold on to something?

there isnt anything to fasten the cover down in does areas. i just put the push fasteners in there for cosmetic reasons, i read a post a few years ago about some one making a bracket but i can find the tread anymore.

Maybe it was removed from your car prior to purchase but I have holes that line up with the cover to insert those fasteners into.

theres nowhere to mount those screws they just get put in for cosmetics. AFAIK the JDM cover is only mounted in one location. At least mines that way....
