I recently purchased a set of Philips D2S 6000K Bulbs.

When I got them, they looked weird to me.

Because my brother had Philips 6000K Kit before.

And he told me that the plastic stick on the side should be blue or purple blue color.

But mine is "white".

I am wondering that did I get the FAKE Philips HID Bulbs ?

Because when I tried them on my car, it looked so white =.=

My friend just installed a Philips HID 6000K Kit on his car.

And they look white + purplish color.

The basement of the bulb has all the written mark like my OEM 4300K Philips bulb.

Please help me out



here is what is written on the bulb's basement:

"PHILIPS GERMANY
D2S 35W 85122
03V DOT 11X206"

 

6000K will produce a touch of blue in the light, but it will be mostly a bright white. Anything hotter than that is just rice, plain and simple. Plus above 5000K you start to lose usable light output so 8000K and up are not recommended.

Because never see a white stick 6000k philips bulbs before.

Usually, the stick should be in blue purple color.

 

I'm not sure about the color of the stick myself, but there are fake Phillips out there, or re-based bulbs.

The exact same bulb can look slightly different in different cars. Some cars have sharper cutoffs or they flicker certain colors (maybe your friend has a purple flicker to the light? opposed to a purple colored light?). The age of the bulb also plays a factor in the color they give off. Many HID bulbs tend to color change/shift after 100-200 hours of use.

 

They look exactly the same as my oem 4300K Philips bulbs.

Nice and clean.

And I have contacted the seller, he told me that if im not happy with it.

I can get another pair.

And they have sold many pairs of philips bulbs.

Just wondering if there is anyone who has the white stick philips 6000K bulbs.

 

they are not ultinons! google how to tell a genuine ultinon.

 

For ultinons, which color the strip should be ?

And what model is the white strip one ?

Yep those are typical stock 4300K bulbs, the color shifting version too.

The 85122+ bulbs do not color shift (turn bluer) with age like the plain 85122. The "+" version came stock with my 07.

 

Yeah, they may be the 4300k bulbs. I'm fairly sure all Philips Ultinon bulbs should have that reddish color in the core (like in the link I posted).
