Possessed trunk

Hello, been frequenting this site for a while but only recently registered and only now posted.

Trunk won't release...no I kid.

Had a weird thing happen when car wouldn't start the other day. Seems my battery died but what got me curious was when trying to start up the car trunk opened. It happened the night before too but was after driven car.
Went to turn off engine, pressed button to close sunroof and heard trunk release...

Wondering if anyone had this happen or if I should be checking for another problem when changing batteries

I've never heard of anything like this. What year is your car? I know you aren't supposed to be able to lock your keys in the trunk on certain years, but I don't know the specifics. I'd assume that's true only for 2006-07 models. Do you have a spare fob in the back seat/trunk area?

I had the switch that opens the trunk go bad, paid Infiniti about $34 for a new one, put it in and everything is fine

It's an 06, bought it beginning of this year. Its AT IP coupe with 54k miles on it when first bought. Had done the 60k service and all checked out. About a month ago changed drive belts and put in k&n filter and z-tube

Only came with one fob and it was in my pocket in driver seat both times.

Not sure if any of the above would have caused it but more info the better? Going to have to check the fuses near battery while it's being switched.

I had the same prob man. This is a common prob with g35s. When the trunk open theres a cord that usually has tenstion and eventually pulls apart overtime. Unplug or take the switch off. Theres a cord wrapped in tape unwrap it and check to see if the wires are disconnected and if they are connect them and there you go. Theres a forum or DIY on this just cant seem to find it but thats prob your prob bro.
