got 2 tickets today..

Hey guys, I recently got my g35 and went on vacation for a week and didn't have time when I got back to register it and get it inspected. So I put on my old plate(stickers still current) on the back, and here in VA we need them up front and back. ANd my car doesn't have a front plate bracket so I couldn't put one up front. But he saw I didn't have a plate and registration sticker up front so he pulled me and I got 2 tickets. One is improper registration and the other is no inspection. The thing that pissed me off the most is he had my car towed when I was in my neighborhood(house was about a mile away) so I had to pay 121 in towing fees. Also he tried giving me a 3rd ticket for no insurance. He was so dumb I had to tell him you can insure a car without it being in your name. He was like how it works is it has to be in your name to be able to insure it..All you need is a vin number. Luckly he ripped up the 3rd ticket. He was a total douche. Anyone know if I show proof of me getting inspection and registration when I go to court, if they will wave the tickets and me only pay court fees?

Also will this put points on my license?

Thanks guys

Youre lucky. VA doesnt play with those two tickets. I see people get screwed every day in court for this. Imagine you hit someone or someone hit you. If your car is not registered it has no business being on the road.

All this having been said, if you register and inspect your car you should be fine in court. They will ask for proof of registration and inspection. Show it to the officer before court. In the end, its up to whatever the judge decides. What part of VA do you live in?

Thats what I was thinking..I am hoping to just pay court fees. I am in chesterfield county. Cops here are retarded. He gave me a 3rd ticket but ripped it up. He said I didn't have insurance when he didn't even ask. He thought cars had to be in your name in order to get insurance on him. I pretty much told him he was wrong and showed him the insurance cards and he ripped up the 3rd ticket

I think that you are going to have to pay the court costs but the tickets will get dropped unless the Cop says you were a hassle or didn't cooperate. Just get it inspected and attach your front plate some how temp. until you can get a bracket. I hate having a front plate..ftl..

Well... I could get that ticket fixed here, but it would involve court fees, which are really high, unless I talk to my uncle : ) The Magistrate

I heard VA laws are a lot less lenient. Here it's just a fix-it ticket. Maybe the judge will be nice and let you off on just court fees.

I did an internship with vbpd...the inspection will most likely get dropped if you get to court early and show proof to the officer... registration ticket more than likely will be a fine

how much of a fine do you think it will be? I am hoping that the judge will respect that I went and got it registered 30 min after the ticket.

Just say you were on your way to register it and the cop gave you a ticket?

You're breaking the law and you're calling him a douche?

from what he was saying, He was being a douche. Yes police officers can be douches. I have successfully went against a cop for harassment before. He pulled me over 8 times in 2 weeks in the same areas while driving the same car. over that time he gave me 2 noise pollution tickets, asked to go through my car every time ( I let him the first 4 times and said no the last 4), and a suspicious driving ticket for doing 5 under the speed limit on a road with houses on each side of the road. That officer was a douche. He didn't even give me the actual ticked I deserved the first time he pulled me over. He gave me noise pollution when I was cruising down the road at 12 over the speed limit. btw, I was 16 at that time driving a camaro z28 with about 350hp. The officer that was harassing me had also been doing the same to other teenagers in middle valley. But yeah, cops can be douches. Writing a ticket for insurance without even asking about it before hand is being a douche.
