In storage for a year- or just sell?
Ive got an '04 6MT coupe with a couple small mods and 15,000 miles. I love my G, but Im going overseas again, this time for a year. Here is my problem, should I put it in storage, or just sell it and buy new when I get home? I like the Brembos and 04 interior better, but like the real aluminum trim, MP3 capability, and newer warranty of getting an 06 when I return. What would you guys do?
I'm assuming the G's paid off? If you're making payments, then you should definitely sell it. Actually, I think you should sell it either way. When you come back, you can get the new 06' G35. Who know's what changes they'll have then.
i'm thinking you should sell it too.....unless you can get your company to pay for importing it into the country you'll be in.....where are you going?

I'm in the same boat brother, headed to Iraq. I'm planning on keeping mine. For one, I like the '04 better than '05 and rumored '06; two, assuming you bought new, you'll never recover the depreciation (even with its relatively high resale value); three, I've done a bunch of mods and don't feel like doing them again; four, I've never worried about warranty issues with Infiniti (if I did, I wouldn't be buying them; I30 daily driver with 150K worry-free miles); finally, Uncle Sugar will take care of storage. Regardless of what you do, Godspeed and happy holidays!

I forgot to mention, its not paid off, but I could sell now and not lose any money. The last couple of times I just stored it, but 1 year is longer than Ive been gone before. Im an army officer, so I could use the soldiers/sailors act to get my interest lowered, but Im more worried about the hassle of storage, depreciation for it to just sit there, and wasting a year of the warranty. I had already pretty much decided to sell, just wanted some other oppinions.
P Diddy- taking it isnt an option, and it really is to lightly armored to withstand the RPGs and roadside bombs anyway.
Mizzoutiger- have you used on post storage before? I wouldnt recommend it unless you drive a beater and arent worried about theft, vandalism, etc.

Install a 50 Cal on the roof (assuming you have a sunroof) and you're good to go! Oh, and you'll want to put on 17-in wheels w/ runflats.

P Diddy- James Bond would be so jealous. Somebody should photoshop an uparmored G. Its funny, but last time in Iraq I thought about how great it would be to have my car- no speed limits. But you would have to do it at 3 AM when there is no traffic, cause they drive crazy over there, and I cant have any dents.
I was in the car business for over 25 years. One of the first rules I learned early on.. never let a car sit for an extened period of time.. It plays havoc in every way! seals, brakes lines, hoses, the inner walls of your cylinders, as well as upholstery, and all rubber parts.. If you have a choice.. Sell! It's not worth it trying to maintain an idle car.. IT's like leaving a pet for a long time.

hahaha! agreed! whatever you do, do *not* use on post storage at campbell or bragg.
also, I wouldn't trust any off post storage within 20 miles of fayettenam. i stored my z-24 in clarksville without a problem, however.
