Window tint question. Please answer.

I have come to the conclusion of just tinting the rear 3 windows on my soon to come (in about 2 weeks) 2005, auto, lakeshore slate, stone leather G35. Do you think it will look okay? I chose to do only the rear 3 cause the cops in my area are dicks, and I don't want my parents to get pulled over for it. Thank you for your replies. I am scared it won't look nice.

P.S. - Once in a while, my parents are gonna want to drive the car (without me). So that's why i had to get auto, and am thinking about tinting just the rear ones. I don't want to void factory warranty, and want to keep the car perfectly legal (so a cop can't pull me over for no reason unless I am doing something illegal like speeding).

just get a light tint on ur other 2 windows..like 35%. at least it'll block out some UV rays for your leather seats and it's not that dark for cops to hassle you i dont think.

I got 5% limo all around, nothing looks nicer, had it for 4 months, no problems getting rolled on yet. Only draw back is backing up at night in a non lighted area.

Ive got 15%. Personally I wouldnt do anything mismatched, just get the legal amount all the way around if you dont want to go darker.

The problem for some of us is that ANY tint on the front side windows is illegal (like in NJ). I'd hate to have mismatched tint, so I might just go with something light but a little grey...

CA tint law is 70% front/any % rear & back windows. Mismatched tint looks horrible, especially on a coupe. Get something a little reflective (I don't mean ricey mirror tint!), I just saw some pics of a coupe tinted with Huper Optik and it looks amazing and really light and subtle.

will as i know in some area the cop just don't allow any tint at front. so if i would you. i will just keep the front window clean. you dont' want to pay the extra money after the cop give you ticket then ask you to move it. i have that kind of problem before, i live in vancouver canada.

is there any problems with tinting the rear passenger windows in the coupe? they have the raised pebbled black stuff around the edges, and i've been hesitant to get it tinted for fear of bubbles around this area. anyone have any problems?

I use to have a modded 98 Prelude a few years back which had 15% all
around. Looked beautiful....but got pulled over plenty of times for it (never got a
ticket, just harrassed) until I took off the front side window tint. It actually
looked pretty good as long as you kept the moon roof's shade closed.

I never bothered to get tints after that.

As you may have noticed, this is highly subjective. Someone may like it a certain way, while it may be completely different from what you would like. If you are worried about getting a fix-it ticket, then go w/ a lighter shade tint all-around so you don't have too much of a contrast.

Contrast will exist no matter what unless you have the front windshield tinted. The reason being light is still being transmitted through the front windshield, which will enhance the lightness of the front doors' windows. Check my profile for pics.

Since I just had a melanoma removed, I'm going to ask the Dr. if I can get a scrip for tinted windows. Illegal to do the fronts in California, unless maybe.....

I swore the tint law in CA was no front tint period.

Actually Calif. law does not allow ANY tint in front of the B pillar, yes you can do anything in rear and back.
Mismatched can look weird. If you go light all around it will look good. But I have also seen very dark behind the B pillar and no tint in front look good also. Whatever you choose, post some pics.
