G35 A/C Compressor
G35 A/C Compressor
From what I just experienced, the G35 A/C compressor is not the same as the 350Z. At the rear of the compressor there is a pressure switch (I assume). I purchased a compressor meant for a 350Z since it was cheap from a guy who no longer had a Z thinking they would be the same. On the 350Z compressor, there is not a connector for the pressure switch; however the hole is still there with a plug (basically). I tried installing my sensor in the hole, but found that the hole was not large enough to fit the pressure sensor.
I think the rear housing with the mounting location for the pressure sensor is the same. Tomorrow (today...12:08am) I will be removing the clutch assembly to disassemble the housing. Hopefully I can just switch out the rear housing and my pressure switch fits and works fine. If not, that sucker is getting bypassed...hopefully without any type of error. lol
With my compressor locking up, I also found a hole blown in one of my AC lines going to the condenser. The dealer said the piece of f'n rubber with some metal fittings on it was over $200....crazy.
I'll be taking that hose to a hose company and have them changed out the rubber for less than $50.
I'll probably have my AC fixed when the triple digit heat streak ends here in Dallas....36 or so I guess so far. Any hotter and I'm going to have an Iraq flash back. lol

Hose Fast in Garland did the work. $35 for new hose and pressed ends. Screw the dealership and their $200+ replacement.
Swapping out the rear housings on the compressor also went well. So it was worth picking up that 350Z compressor cheap.

The 350z and g35 compressors are exactly the same. It was probably a maxima or something else he got it from.
I pulled a donor engine out of a 350z and i have a g35. The a/c compressors are 100% identical. These are 2003-2005 cars also.
The pressure switch isn't on the a/c compressor either. On both 350z and g35 the pressure switch is on the passenger side of the a/c condensor. There are, however, 2 plugs that go into the a/c compressor. If the one you purchased only has 1 port then it's for the wrong vehicle.

Mine fell off as well the bolt was stripped when it came off. The shaft won't turn. So now I have to replace the compressor. You may have too as well. Take my advice go to auto zone or advanced or even O'Reilly to get a compressor. It will come with clutch included. 304$-372$ Once I get the money for mine I'll hit up a small shop and have them do it.
