Trunk Release

My trunk wont open with the remote or the button in the car. I have also tried the button next to the glove compartment, i can't use the backseat release because my system is blocking it and it bolted down really well. Is there any way to break the lock with out hurting the trunk lid or any other emergency cords in the car.

[QUOTE=baller2319I have also tried the button next to the glove compartment[/QUOTE]

The button next to the glove compartment doesn't open the glove compartment. It only enables or disables opening it... You can turn it off, lock the glove compartment, and then give a valet your valet key. That would deny the valet the ability to get into the trunk.

From your description, it sounds like you turned that switch off. Try flipping it the other way, and then try either the remote or the switch near the VDC switch.

Maybe 2 or 3 times in a little over a year I've had the problem of not being able to open the trunk with either the key fob or the inside switch. I believe that I had to put the key in the ignition and turn the key a couple of notches--on and then off--then the trunk opened properly for some reason.

As Dave said, the glove box button only enables and disables the other dash release. Try the button again.
Failing that, don't break anything. The function will probably return eventually since the problem could be intermittent.
The dealer may have some ideas on that too.

Once you gain access, make sure the emergency tether is fed back thru to the cabin.

I have the same problem. Seems like everytime I go to Walmart this happens. I have been to the dealership with no fix, but they are looking into this after I sent a thread to them. If you turn the key to on and then back off it has always worked after that. One time I walked by it and it sounded like the door locks were engaged, but the doors would open but the trunk would not. I did the nav modification and totally bypassed that switch, and the 4 times I tried it the trunk opened.
